Context:
One part of the story takes place in a small town, in the absolute devastation and poverty that engulfed the entire country after the collapse of the USSR. In the heyday of crime, a drinking father with despotic inclinations was the personification of his time. In semi-abandoned areas, behind closed doors, people, seemingly completely normal, commit terrible crimes. Most of all, the victims of this troubled time are children, absolutely defenseless against adults. The second part is in the present tense when the main character is already an adult, but her difficult childhood and tragic events of her youth catch up with her, no matter how far she runs. Neither love, nor career, nor life in the city of dreams can make her forget the past. Finally, she accepts this challenge and decides to solve the murder and get answers to her questions.
