About me

Dear reader!
Welcome to my cozy refuge! My name is Shataeva Nurshat, and I am a writer.

I moved to Israel eight years ago, and after a long period of rejection, getting used to it, finding new friends and skills, and learning a new language, I was finally able to call it my home!
Like any writer, I live between reality and fiction most of the time, and sometimes, it is difficult to determine where the first is and where the second is.

I love solitude, rain, and the smell of freshly baked goods; I love watching the sea waves crash against the rocks under the windows. I am prone to melancholy, and sadness, I love listening to the life stories of different people and retelling them to myself.
But do you know that every moment of our life, like a book's page, is written in our brains as little stories? Some kind of narratives that make up our perception of the world and ourselves in it.

We essentially become narrators of our own lives, telling stories about ourselves, our loved ones, and the whole world to ourselves and others. This continuous process of making stories can be observed, explored, studied, supplemented, and changed.

The writer's path is like an old, worn parchment, smelling of dust and an incredibly long wait, but once you set foot on it, you can no longer live as before, you try to hold on to it with all your might.

I have been walking towards it for a huge time, stumbling every time and gaining amazing experience. But from the very beginning, my goal was to write a novel.

I dreamed of creating a work that would reflect not only and not so much my personal experiences, but also those of hundreds and thousands of other women. An attempt to raise important questions about traditional values in the Eastern culture to which I belong, an attempt to comprehend, understand, and analyze.

But here it is written! As in any first serious work, the author's presence is strong in the novel. Sonorous, sincere, painfully frank, ruthless - there is a lot of my pain in it.
At the same time, I wanted, and I dare to hope I succeeded, in conveying to the reader something much more than just a story. To give hope that even the most complex scenarios can be rewritten, and any story can be retold differently: brightly, inspiringly, boldly!
Also here you will find short stories that are very dear to my heart because they were written at the very beginning of my writing career. Slightly naive, clumsy, rough but written exclusively out of love and from the heart.
